Hanumandhoka Royal Palace, situated in the center of Kathmandu was residence of Kings form ancient times. The present structure symbolizes the height of perfection reached by medieval ars Place is referred to as Rajkul, Lanjkut, Layaku, abdGunpo etc. The palace became popular as the Hanumandhoka Royal Palace after King Pratap Malla in 1672 C.E. Installed a statute of Hanuman in the main entrance of the Palace. However, three kings, MahendraMalla, PratapMalla and Prithvi Narayan Shah deserve special credits for making the Palace attractive by adding various structures to the complex.
